Summary

The route starts at Litton and walks up the eastern bank of the Skirfare before turning up Pen-y-ghent Gill and then up the side of Darnbrook Fell to its trig point. You continue along the tops to Fountains Fell and then descend into Silverdale along the Pennine Way. You continue on the Pennine Way past the farm at Dale Head to the top of Pen-y-ghent. From the trig point a path follows a wall to the top of Plover Hill. The route descends Foxup Moor form where you pick up Foxup Road which takes you to Foxup. You return to Litton walking down beautiful Littondale on the eastern bank of the Skirfare

It's a lovely walk with splendid views from the tops finishing with a relaxing walk down Littondale

The route finding is quite straight forward and, with the exception of the ascent up Darnbrook Fell, there are paths all the way round.

You can select either to look at the text of the walk (Text Only) or read my diary and summary of the walk (Diary)
