The walk starts at Gradbach, proceeds down the Dane to it's junction with Back Brook from where it climbs to Lud's Church - a unique feature in the Peak District. From here the route takes you onto The Roaches and Hens Cloud. The route then drops to the top of Tittesworth Reservoir before climbing to the top of Gun. The return leg takes you back to the Dane Valley at Barleigh Ford and then climbs up Shell Brook to Lower Greasley. From here you drop back to DAnebridge and return up the Dane Valley to Gradbach
A lovely walk in extremely pretty countryside. The valleys and paths are some of the best in the Peak District. The best time to do the walk is in late spring when the flowers are out carpeting the valley sides, especially in the wooded areas and the gorse and hawthorn are in full bloom. The views from the ridges are magnificent with Shutlingsloe dominating the skyline all day.
The paths are good and the route finding is relatively easy. There are some very popular places where there are a lot of people e.g. The Roaches and around Gradbach, but for the remainder of the day you will not see many people.
