Circumnavigation of the Edale Valley with stunning views all day

Summary

The route starts at the car park at Barbers Booth and continues up Chapel Gate and onto Rushup Edge. From there you walk down The Great Ridge from Mam Tor to Lose Hill before dropping down into Hope and climbing up to Hope Cross and onto Crookstone Edge. The last half of the walk is along the southern edge of the Kinder Plateau crossing Jaggers, Ollerbrook, Grindsbrook and Crowden Cloughs before dropping down from the edge via Jacobs Ladder. Its then a short walk along track and road to Upper Booth and onto the car park

A lovely walk with fine views. But it's spoilt by its popularity. Too many people so go mid week in poor weather if you crave solitude. It could be made longer – and better by crossing Brown Knoll to complete the full circle but you would have to descend Chapel Gate – and it's not a good way down; Jacobs Ladder is much better.

Route finding is straight forward and the paths good.
