Summary

The walk starts at Bunsal Cob in the Goyt Valley and proceeds down the western side of Fernilee Reservoir to Madsar Farm. It then climbs up to Windgather Rocks and continues on a ridge to Pym Chair and on to Shinning Tor. You then cross to the Cat and Fiddle before descending the Dane Valley to Three Shire Heads. The second half of the walk takes you to the highest village in England, Flash, on to Axe Edge End and across Axe Edge Moor before dropping to the top of the Goyt Valley and walking down the eastern side of Erwood Reservoir to Bunsal Cob and the car.

A good walk with nice views of the surrounding fells, valleys and of Manchester and the Cheshire plain. The highlights are the views from Pym Chair and of the Dane valley at Three Shire Head.

Route finding is straight forward and the paths are generally good.
