Summary

The walk starts at Rowlsey and climbs up onto Stanton Moor and Nine Ladies Standing. From here the route takes you to Stanton in Peak and onto Alport from where you walk up beautiful Bradford Dale to the source of the river. The next section takes you through muddy fields and lanes to Elton before you climb up to Birchover. A good path/track/lane takes you down to teh Derwnt at Darly Bridge from where you walk up the valley to Rowsley

An interesting walk on muudy paths/ tracks and leafy lanes. There are some nice views and interesting features i.e. Nine Ladies Standing. Around Stanton Moor there are a number of old quarries whose owners have recently lost there fight to reopen them .

The route finding is straight forward if somewhat fussy. It uses well marked paths, tracks or lanes.
