The route starts at the plantation car park below Stanage Edge. Initially it climbs onto the Edge before tracking along the tops to Moscar and the Snake Road. From here the route crosses Ughill Moor and drops down to Dale Dyke Dam before climbing up and over to Lower Bradfield. The return goes via Dam Flask, Royds Clough and up and over to the Snake Road below Hollow Meadows. It's then a short climb up to Redmires Reservoirs, on to Stanedge Pole and the Edge before dropping down to the car park
A good walk with easygoing topography and route finding; the route follows good, well marked paths and tracks. It’s a route to do in the spring when the reservoirs are full, the woods in bloom and the wildlife active after winter hibernation.
