Map copyright Ordance Survey Summary The walk starts at Hawes before going to Sedbusk from where you walk down Wensleydale to Bainbridge. At Bainbridge the route takes you up Raydale, first tracking the Bain before walking round Semer Water and onto Stalling Busk and Marsett. After MArsett the route takes you up the northern side of Bardale Beck to its Head where after a short stretch on the road you cut up the fell side to the trig point of Dodd Fell. The return to Hawes is via the Pennine Way and Gayle. A nice route with good paths – except for the section up and over Dodd Fell - and some good views. The route finding is quite straight forward although care is needed on Dodd Fell. The first half of the walk down Wensleydale and up Raydale is through pleasant walled fields with lovely views of the surrounding fells. After Marsett the going gets more remote culminating in the peaty flat top of Dodd Fell. The return is straight forward as you drop down and follow the Pennine Way back to Hawes .
